Landrieu rallies blight volunteers: They'll gather Saturday in 5 sites

Hoping to harness the efforts of New Orleanians fed up with run-down properties and overgrown lots, Mayor Mitch Landrieu has called for volunteers to participate Saturday in five cleanup events around the city. Fight the Blight Day marks Landrieu's first effort to involve residents heavily in his initiative to rid the city of 10,000 nuisance properties by 2013. Read more here
